Types of companies in Hungary

KFT/LLC is the most common form of organization of an enterprise, when the owners are not liable for the company’s obligations with personal assets. Authorized capital of a LLC in Hungary is 3 million forints, which is equal to 9 000 euros. Authorized capital may be at the disposal of the Director and not be transferred to the company’s account. In Hungary there is no requirement to pay a salary to the Director of the company.

RT/JSC is a joint-stock company. According to Hungarian legislation, only a natural person can be a Director. To maintain Hungarian residency, there are recommendations to appoint a Hungarian resident as a Director of the company. Authorized capital of such a company must be at least 5 million forints, which is equal to about 15 000 euros.
